Before Sunrise

Saretha Bradley

It’s not too late to discover a new season, and gifts, abilities ~ the plans God has for you!

Despite the the overwhelming grief and heartbreaking loss during COVID, it became clear to me, that this is a season to encourage and inspire others and to remind us that we are graciously loved and beautifully blessed by God. How can we still have faith and hope, and be encouraged

during this time?

So with no formal textile or art training, just a heart and desire to go~ by faith, hope, and love ~ I walked through this door

to learn how to create unique hand-applied textile techniques on silk, cotton, paper, ceramics, and canvas. My desire was simply to inspire and encourage people and to remind them that they are graciously loved and blessed by God.

It has not been easy walking in a new season, “learning and practicing new things”. I have made many mistakes along the way. And still do ~ both creatively, as well as learning to run Blue Rose Blestimonies to God’s glory. Some people make it look so easy out here and this can be very intimidating! But, I am learning, and I have learned to trust My Father in ‘my process to keep going, walking, and running through this door, on this path,

as long as My Father says so.

I have practiced techniques for alter-ego silk dyeing, rhinestones, water-marbling, shibori, alcohol inking, gelling, heat pressing, eco printing, resin creations, devourer etching on velvets fabric; and stamping.

I was thrilled when I combined cardstock and fabrics to successfully create my first fabric photograph.

I love being creative and the sheer joy and excitement I experience when learning and using new hand-applied techniques is quite therapeutic.. To be honest, I’m not always pleased with some of my creative results but I understand this is part of the “process” and I need to keep practicing until I am pleased and at peace with my work.

Learning different artistic, textile hand-applied techniques also helps me to anticipate the beautiful possibilities; and during this season, I have learned other significant lessons such as the right timing to alternate between a gentle hand when shingling wispy merino wool onto fabrics and when to transition to a firm and steady hand when rolling merino onto silk, chiffon; and gauze - for the necessary outcomes.

My Father and Jesus are awesome and so is the glorious creation. I am in awe of God and inspired by the power and beauty of God’s creation. I feel it is a privilege to create and design using flowers, trees, sunsets (and sunrises), rivers, lakes, oceans, clouds, rain, and rainbows as well as animals, both great and small. For many decades, the Lord has been downloading His spoken word, poetry, a few songs, and thought-provoking musings. I am humbled and thrilled to be able to finally release, what He has given me to share with others.

I hope and pray you are inspired AND encouraged by Blestimonies ~ expressions of grace ~ inspired by love.

And I pray you remember to be kind to yourself and to others

I hope you always remember that you are graciously loved and beautifully blessed by God!
